Throughout our lives we are often compared to many things. Our sincere
desire is that these representations are vividly illustrated with positive
images that flatter our actions, desires, and achievements. Godly men and
women are likened in the Scriptures to sturdy trees. From the pulpit,
Dr. Kenneth D. Phelps, like the tree, stands straight for God to
teach, guide, and protect. A director of deliverance, this is a man who
firmly believes in nurturing his flock by providing opportunities and
options, like blessings, to those willing to receive them. Among the
congregation, he is mentor, friend, partner, and pastor. In times of
delight or despair, he shines as a light of hope exemplifying the glory
of God’s infinite wisdom, strong in his convictions, confident in Christ.
“He shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth
forth his fruit in his season” (Psalm 1:3 KJV).

Concord Missionary Baptist Church (CMBC) is the fertile valley in
which Dr. Kenneth D. Phelps thrives and grows in grace. He
confessed Christ at an early age. He was licensed to preach in
November 1990 and ordained in May 1994. His life-long relationship
and devotion to the Lord culminated into a dream fulfilled as he was
called to pastor at CMBC on December 19, 1994.

Dr. Phelps is owner and CEO of Imani Faith Productions, Inc and founder of Project Jericho. Imani Faith Productions is a faith based media production company.

Married for twenty-six years to Veneeta B. Phelps, Dr. Kenneth
D. Phelps is the father of three beautiful children, Kenneth, Morgan, and
David (who are his pride and joy). He holds a B.A. in Computer
Information Systems from Wartburg College in Waverly, Iowa, and a
Master of Divinity and an earned Doctrate of Ministry degree from Northern Baptist Theological Seminary. Dr. Phelps Doctoral Thesis focused on restoring congregational health through discipleship and small group ministry.

He stands as firm as a tree, committed and guided by the doctrine of faith,
giving shade as words to comfort, providing natural resources to build
people up in the Lord. He is a blessing to all who know him, bearing
the fruits of his labors to feed multitudes.
