March 2, 2014 – Cost the Cross – Cost of Discipleship Part 2

It Cost The Cross
Luke 14:27

It's important to know the cost of a thing before you commit to it. Know what you're getting into prior to getting in it. Ascertain the cost and value before purchasing.
Make sure you read the fine print. Just because you meet them in a bar or on Facebook doesn't mean you know it. Whether you buy cars or cows get to the bottom line.

What is the true cost in being a disciple?
Many people are only interested in the basic living of Christianity. To keep them out of hell. Watered down religion. They want something for nothing. Church that gives and meets their emotional needs but they never want to give to the church. Many of us bought the same package without knowing the cost of discipleship. Many of us have not paid the price and our lives, church and community are suffering.

What does it cost? It cost the cross. We must be willing to suffer the case of Christ and some times willing to die. We can take the suffering but don't want to die. It means to say goodbye to ourselves. We must be willing to crucify ourselves daily. Beat my own into subjection. If you don't like being told what to do, then tell yourself what to do.

We need to willing to die for something or we die for nothing. To come into your destiny, something has to die. Kill ignorance, poverty. God want to take you to the unknown and you have to ready to die so that that that is in us might be birthed and live.
God has things on layaway but you have to get rid of stuff in order to for God to give it to you.
Some things we make sacred ain't holy. God will expose unhealthy relationships. Daily a death to I disciplined life, where we eat, drink, smoke and entertain who and what we want.
Be willing to die in the areas of accountability. Someone that you are willing to submit to. To get a total pic of yourself you have to look outside yourself. Just cause you can't see it doesn't mean it doesn't exist. To glad someone is honest with you to tell you about yourself to prevent you from making a tragic mistake. Your life impacts other people.
We must practice daily discipline so the flesh can learn the lesson that it has no right of it own. Feed it, it grows, starve it, it dies. Entertain the same thoughts and have the same mentality. Strays are greedy and will stay cause you are feeding it.
Christianity is not a cheap religion. Not money but sacrifice. Religion that does nothing that saves nothing gives, costs and suffers nothing is worth nothing. Carry your cross daily.
At the cross, at the cross.....
